The School

A national school nestled in the hills of Sabaragamuwa.

For decades, Sirisaman National College has been the heart of education in the Deraniyagala valley — sending its sons and daughters into every corner of Sri Lanka and the world.

Located in Deraniyagala, in the heart of the Kegalle District, Sirisaman National College — known to generations as Sirisaman Madhya Maha Vidyalaya (සිරිසමන් මධ්‍ය මහා විද්‍යාලය) — stands as the principal seat of learning for the Deraniyagala township and its surrounding villages.

From a modest Central College, the institution was elevated to National School status, broadening its mandate to offer instruction from the early grades through Advanced Level in Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. A spacious playground, a Buddhist shrine room, modern science laboratories, a well-stocked library, and ICT facilities make up the campus today.

Beyond the classroom, the school is a cultural and sporting force — fielding four cadet platoons, both Western and Eastern music bands, dance and drama societies, a Photographic Art Society, and athletic teams that regularly bring honour to the Sabaragamuwa Province and beyond.

The Old Pupils Association

Once a Sirisamanian, always a Sirisamanian.

ආදී ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමය

The Old Pupils Association exists to keep the bonds of school alive long after the school gates have closed behind us — and to channel the goodwill, time, and resources of our alumni back into the school that made us who we are.

The Association is rooted at the school in Deraniyagala — the misty valley town that shaped us. Whether you sat for your O/Ls in 2003 or your A/Ls in 2023, whether you live next door to the school or anywhere else in the country, there is a place for you in this Association.

  • IConnection — Reunite with your batchmates, your teachers, and the wider Sirisamanian family across generations.
  • IIContribution — Fund scholarships, sponsor sports kits, donate books and laboratory equipment, support deserving students.
  • IIIMentorship — Guide today's A/L students with career advice, university guidance, and the wisdom of your experience.
  • IVLegacy — Help shape the next decade of the school: infrastructure, ICT, the library, the playgrounds you loved.
